The nearby village of Bensafrim (2.5km) offers basic amenities including a couple of cafes, a mini-market and some local eateries, whilst the picturesque town of Lagos (9km) is the former capital of the Algarve and offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere and all amenities you could want from good restaurants to local markets and a marina. Excellent beaches are within easy reach around Lagos and its stunning coastline. Meia Praia (13km) is an endless expanse of golden sands in a natural setting and Praia do Camilo (13km), a more secluded beach nestling between the cliffs.
For those wishing to venture further afield, Praia da Luz (14km) is a relaxed beach resort town or the small fishing village of Salema and beach is 23km. The wilder, more remote west coast beach of Bordeira (27km) is also easily accessible and well known for its surfing, located in the Costa Vicentina natural park. Inland, why not head to the enchanting old Capital of Silves (40km), and beyond, the cooling forest trails and hills of Monchique (43km). For some summer fun the Autodromo racing circuit (18km) is excellent for go karting or you could visit Zoomarine (23km).
