Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Pros: Modern house that was spacious and well furnished. No central (rare in Europe) but good units in two of the three bedrooms. The third had a large fan but it was too hot for most Americans. The AC was good in the bedrooms that had it. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels and blankets. Kids had fun in the pool. It’s above ground with a deck around it.

Negative: Cons: We had some trouble getting into the place. The owner had kindly agreed to let us arrive an hour early (as we had to rush off to a wedding event). Her mother was going to meet us at the house but didn’t arrive. The cleaning crew was still there so they let us in after a while (I think they were checking with the owner but couldn’t understand since they didn’t speak any English and we don’t speak Portuguese). There is a lockbox and keypad so not sure why they didn’t just share that with us. The house is on a quiet street, but there are roosters in the neighborhood. Be sure to bring earplugs or a sound machine. They do not supply paper towels, hand soap in the bathroom, or shower items (shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel) so remember to bring your own.
