Positive: Casa Flor do Monte felt very luxurious. All the appliances were excellent. Everything was top quality. All amenities were included like shampoo/shower gel/washing tablets/wood for the log burner etc. Location was very quiet and relaxing. Ideal after long days out exploring. Monica who co-hosts the property was amazing. We asked her lots of questions about hikes and sights and she responded to us almost immediately, which we appreciated as we needed more local knowledge to organise our days out with up to date weather changes. Every day visits from Spider, the neighbours dog, made our return to the property feel like home.

Negative: The property is situated on a very steep hill, making parking tricky at times. Although this cannot be resolved, it would be very useful to be made aware of this prior to arrival. If staying at this property, I would recommend hiring a car with a substantial engine as the hills of Monte are very steep. The Citroen C3 we rented really struggled.

Summary: Amazing property. Very peaceful and homely. Recommend a car with a larger engine
