It refers to the mythical Montado do Cidrão, an area of great natural and cultural value in the parish, where the legend of the Bicho Cidrão dwells — a wandering soul of a shepherd who, according to tradition, haunts the mountains with his bellow that announces a storm. This legendary spirit is part of the community's imaginary, representing the deep connection between the people and the untamed nature that surrounds them. By naming the accommodation with this name, we pay homage to that heritage and evoke the mysterious, mystical, and enchanting side of Curral das Freiras.
