She'll pretend that she's starving, but believe us, she's not - she'll usually be satisfied with a few belly rubs instead. If you can't resist those big, sad eyes ... a slice of apple or a piece of bell pepper will buy you a place in her heart for forever. The lizards are generally too scared to allow any close contact.
We have a natural swimming pond with sun decks. This is a chemical-free swimming pond, cleaned naturally by plants, biological processes, and UV treatment rather than chlorine. Because of this, the experience is different from a traditional pool—the water clarity can vary depending on weather and natural conditions, but it is part of a healthy, living ecosystem.
The swimming area also has a natural shape, with sloped sides rather than vertical walls, so depth changes gradually.
We created this space to be shared by both people and nature, so you may notice birds, frogs, and insects around.
