The small town of Monte is very close by: tourists from all over the world take the cable car (Teleférico) from Funchal up to Monte and enjoy the wonderful view of Funchal from the gondola; back down to Funchal it is then often with the famous basket sleds, which are each steered by two basket sled drivers. Activities nearby: Teleférico 1.5 km. The above of Monte, located in Funchal, offers attractive excursion destinations with the pilgrimage church of Nossa Senhora do Monte and the tropical gardens.
