Natural house by the river, close to the beach | House in Odeceixe

This very cozy house is newly renovated and located on our small farm where we grow vegetables and fruit trees. The house is made out of rammed earth and stones, placed just a few meters from the gorgeous Seixe river, surrounded by green hills and fields. The valley is very calm and full of animals such as cows, horses, goats, sheep, donkeys and pigs. In the hot days you can take a dip dip in the river or visit the amazing beach only 6 km away!

In the end of 2015 we started to rebuild the house. We have put a lot of effort and personal touch into every corner of the house. We have been building the bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom our self with volunteer help. It has been a long and exciting journey and we are extremely happy with the results :)
The house is made out of rammed earth and stones, perfect for the climate in the area since the house stays cool in the day and warms up naturally at night.
The house has a nice and spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen. There is a sofa that folds out to a double bed in the living room area.
The room has a sofa bed and a sofa bed. There is a small mezzanine, a perfect place for children or young spirits to sleep. If children want to sleep on the mezzanine alone (with out grown-ups), we recommend that they are over 6 years old. The ladder to the mezzanine easily folds up against the wall when not in use. The bathroom is placed next to the bedroom and has a shower and sink. The house can host 4 adults + 2 kids / youths. There is no extra fee for children under 12 years old. (If guests visit with more than 2 kids we will charge 5 Euros per extra kid).

In the hot days you can take a dip dip in the river. There is free wifi, nice places to sit outside and parking space just next to the house.
We are very proud of what we have created since we came to Portugal 4 years ago and we would love to share it with you :)

Guests will be staying in our farm, where we live and work daily on the land. This summer we might host a volunteer or two that will help us in the garden and with other maintenance. We will be renting both our newly restored houses and we will stay in the tipi on the land.
We will be around if you have any questions or need directions about what to do in the area.

Depending on season and situation of the garden, we can offer guests 100% organic home grown vegetables and herbs.

We are using a compost toilet and we invite all guests to use it, if they want. There is a normal toilet in the house, but we would be happy to see guests contribute to our compost :) There is also an outside shower and kitchen that we will use while the houses are rented.

We have created our own gray-water-cleaning-system, which means we are filtering all the waste water coming from the shower, sink and kitchen. There is no capacity for extra beds / cots in the room.

We are recycling all the garbage waste, in the house you will find recycling-bins and a compost bin for organic waste.

The hot water in the house is heated up by the sun in a solar powered tank.

Guests can use laundry machine for a fee of 4 euros, including eco-soap.
