Angie and I are both retired USAF. We got to sample lodging across the U.S. and in several countries. When we started the Acorn Cottage we wanted to provide travelers with something more like a home instead of a furnished box. In other words, somewhere that WE would want to stay! We clean and maintain the Acorn Cottage ourselves so we KNOW what condition it is in before you arrive.
We live in a separate building on the property and will be your neighbors if you come visit! That means any problems or questions come directly to us, the owners. We have no cleaning fee, security deposit, etc. that get added to the price you see. Taxes and fees by VRBO/HOMEAWAY are the only add-on charges.
The Acorn Cottage is a large two-bedroom apartment (with a private entrance) above a three-car garage that is Angie's studio. The full bath and kitchen make it ideal for long visits. It is equipped with most of the daily necessities and conveniences you need to be comfortable. There's also free laundry facilities on-site below the apartment.
Centrally Located, eight nice beaches within 30 minutes of us. You're never more than five miles from the water while in St Petersburg. Central air and heat, WiFi, streaming service, gas range top, microwave oven, refrigerator, off Street parking, feels Like a small house.
NO PETS, ALL GUESTS MUST BE AT LEAST 12, NO SMOKING IN APARTMENT: Smoking in the apartment will force us into excessive cleaning and laundering by Florida laws covering No Smoking rentals. A $250.00 fee will be collected for evidence of smoking.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Kenwood Historic District, short distance from restaurants, shopping, and downtown. Near the Grand Central District and the Warehouse Arts District.
TRANSPORTATION: Interstate access and U.S. Route 19 are both less than 1/2 mile away. Bus and trolleys cover most of the local area attractions. Bus stop less than a block away.
