The village of Aricera, in the Douro Valley, home of Outros Tempos, existed from Roman times. There is a parish church with a beautiful altar in gilt, the invocation of Saint Cristovão, whose party takes place on 25 July.
The elegant and old (1745) main house entrance gate in Outros Tempos can be a starting point for a healthy village tour through the narrow village streets lined with stone houses: one can observe the cradle district of the village, water sources, and a community washing clothes tank, an interesting oil mill, the former prison of the village window from MDCCCXXIX (1829).
