Positive: Staff and facilities were fine. Breakfast was adequate for this type of hotel. We stayed there for a family funeral and had booked an extra day. However, we had another family emergency and had to return to our home a day early. Although, I wasn't particularly hopeful, both the hotel staff and Booking.com worked with us to get a refund for the last day we had pre-paid, which was very much appreciated.

Negative: I was appalled that at the front desk there was a sign stating that there was a $3 per day parking fee. This is not a city center hotel with a parking garage or valet parking. This is a hotel built in the middle of a parking lot! --the equivalent of a 'motel' or 'motor inn.' I have traveled across the country and in many countries outside the USA staying in similar hotels and inns and have NEVER been charged a parking fee. I think it is obnoxious. No one appreciates being nickeled and dimed. It would be better to just raise the rate by $3 per day than to add on an obviously unnecessary charge. No one walks to this hotel (for instance, from a train station or airport). Everyone arrives in a car. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I think it is beneath the Marriott corporation to inflict such a ridiculous charge on their guests. Perhaps it is this hotel's individual management team that has decided this is a good idea to pocket several hundred dollars a day without sharing a percentage with the corporation or booking agencies. I think it is despicable. And, by the way, so did all of our other family members who stayed there for the funeral. I did NOT like the brand of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash products in the shower, Alice + Co. Botanical. Each one had a different scent the last of which was sickeningly sweet strawberry. I would prefer a dish detergent scent to fruit in my cleansing products. My suggestion: go neutral or unscented. People want to feel clean, not like a fruit basket.
