Castanheira de Pera is a wonderful place to explore this lovely area from. Praia das Rocas is just five minutes away. Visit the romantic shist villages in the Lousa mountains, the historic country towns nearby, swim in the small river beaches or boat on the nearby lake. Just step outside the house onto long walking trails, go cycling on the forest tracks or just sip a glass of local wine and enjoy the unbelievable views. There are summer festas and weekly markets in most of the local villages.
The space
Quinta da Colina is a large renovated, traditional farmhouse with stunning views just five minutes' drive from Castanheira de Pera and its famous river beach, Praia das Rocas.
We have converted the ground floor Adega (wine cellar) into a spacious, four room unit with separate bedroom. bathroom, hall and open plan living room and kitchen with a private patio and garden.
Guests have the choice of eating al fresco in their own part of the the large courtyard or in their own garden on the other side of the house.
The seasonal swimming pool with separated sun decks is shared with a maximum of 4 guests from the other accommodation on the other side of the farm.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the central courtyard to access the shared swimming pool and sundeck, BBQ, and to socialise with other guests in the cottage. There is a large covered space for dining or hanging out.
There is common access through the courtyard or a private entry through the back garden.
Other things to note
This is an active, small-scale farming area so guests will encounter sheep and goats in the surrounding paddocks and deer and boar in the forest. There are sometimes general background farming sounds in the daytime.
