Villa Val Hala
Villa Val Hala is an ideal property for a family or a group of friends looking for a sunny city break in Portugal. Located in a quiet residential area of Albufeira, while still being just a 15-minute walk away from the town centre with a variety of restaurants, bars and supermarkets, this property has all the qualities necessary for a fantastic holiday.
Free wi-fi and air conditioning (cooling and heating) in the living room and bedrooms are provided at this property.
The first floor of the property has 2 bedrooms, both with double beds and balconies, as well as a bathroom with a shower.
An additional bathroom with a shower can be found on the ground floor. The cosy living area invites you to relax and lounge on comfortable seating, while the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, dishwasher, dishes and utensils, coffee machine, washing machine and kettle. The Albufeira Old Town is about a 20-minute walk away (about a 7 minute drive) and the Albufeira Strip is also about a 7 minute drive away.
Car hire is not a necessity, unless you wish to discover more of the Algarve. Other options of transportation include the local bus the Albufeira “Giro” with several routes around town and local taxis which are readily available and well-priced (for which contact information will be provided).

Summary: Lovely property in a quiet location and a pleasant 20mins walk into the centre. Good little supermarket just 200m away. Initial communication with the management company had been very good although confusing at times when dealing with two different levels: what I assume was a UK or Irish manager and sometimes conflicting information from the local Albufeira manager regarding checking in. It wasn't a problem but could've ben slicker especially when we weren't always getting the same information. They arranged for us to be collected from the airport and the driver was very pleasant. However, despite being told that "The transfers are done by our local representatives who know the properties and will get you safely to your destination so that you can start enjoying your holiday with no time lost", the driver could not remember the exact location of the property and eventually asked us to get out of the car and we had to lug our suitcases around the cobbled lanes for a further 25mins in the heat before she found the property. We were then subjected to a pushy sell to take. a boat trip or visit a specific restaurant in Lagos -whilst the rep was very pleasant, by this time all we wanted was a cool drink and a chance to change into more comfortable clothing so we said we would bear it in mind and let her know if we wished to do either of these things. Rather than just leave it at that, she informed us she would return the following day to discuss further and sure enough she did - at which point we politely made it clear that we did not want to book either of them. When the rep called back the following day, she arrived at exactly the same time as my husband and I returned from the supermarket: we opened the security gate to let her in (without any apparent problem) but, when she went to leave the property again she was unable to unlock the gate and, on further inspection, this was because the key had snapped in the lock when we opened it. She arranged for someone to provide a replacement key and this was done very quickly however, despite the fact that she was standing beside us when we opened the gate and agreed that no force nor inappropriate use of the key had been used, we were nonetheless charged 24€ for a replacement key - when it was quite clear that there must've either been a fault with either the lock or the key itself for it to snap inside the lock this way. Very disappointing. We did enjoy the property itself though the neither the pool lights nor the lovely water fountain featured in the photos were working. We reported both of these and the pool lights were fixed that day but no attempt was made to fix the fountain during our stay. The handyman advised us that it no longer worked so maybe the photos should be updated to reflect this.
